Stern's Store for Men on 5th Avenue in New York placed several
advertisements in The Times-- among the features, a 100% silk tie
by Christian Dior, on sale for five dollars. The background you
see here comes from the classified section of the NY Times...
where three year old Cadillacs go for about two three thousand...

- Shakespears's 397th birth
anniversary was celebrated at Stratford-upon-Avon,
England
- US was set to orbit a robot space
man
- The phone numbers in both Canada
and the US consisted of two letters and 5 numbers
- Princeton University admitted
their first woman student; Sabra Follett Meservey was the
first woman student admitted in the university's 215 year
history
- We found this ad.... somebody
please tell me what this is for:
- A team of Japanese seizmologist
asserted that it will be possible to predict earthquakes
in ten years by measuring movements of the earth's crust
- 3,500 anti-Castro Cubans
demonstrated at the UN headquarters and the Soviet
Mission to the United States to support what they called
"The Second Cuban Revolution"
- There was an 11% chance of
precipitation in Montréal, with a high of 67 degrees and
a low of 48 degrees Fahrenheit (oh my... we weren't using
Celsius yet... how does conversion work again?)

in NY facing Central Park for $9.50 to $15 per diem for a
single, and $15 to $23 for a double
- Diefenbaker just announced four
by-elections to be held on May 28th, all four seats were
formerly held by Conservative members from B.C., Ont.,
